New fast HIV test, which shows the results in 10 minutes, can trace HIV in earlier stages of infection comparing to the available tests in the market, research shows.
The new HIV test is based on the existing OraQuick HIV test platform. OraQuick ADVANCE Rapid HIV-1/2 Antibody Test is tracing antibodies against HIV 1 and 2 in 20 minutes. The new test does the same work for 10 minutes.

Doctors from the department of Health and Mental Hygiene in New York report for oral test, which discovers antibodies against HCV and which is made with the same OraQuick technology.
The version, which uses blood from the thumb, was already approved in June, 2010, and it is the only accessible point-of-care test for hepatitis C.
The new version uses probe, taken with rubbing the mucosa. The preliminary results show that 97.5 % of the results are close to those from EIA. At 6 out of 7 nonconcurring results, the fast test was confirmed as rightful with PCR.
