Postpartum depression makes you feel so bad that you cannot feel the joy of being mother.
First are euphoria, joy and excitement. And then, just when you think everything is fine and appears depression. It still appears different for everyone. Some women are still things in this and in other – things getting out of control. This does not mean that you lack motherly instinct. Just psyche is trying to adopt new, unfamiliar, responsibility and upcoming events. This holds true especially if this is the first birth.
Here are some tips that will help you cope with postpartum depression:
Drink tea!
Choose from peppermint, chamomile or lime. And may rotate – even better! Add the tablespoon of honey for flavor and healthy sweetness.
Rest!
Rest is mandatory. For this purpose it is better to ask someone close to be around during the first days after birth. Watch your dream match with this baby. Go for a walk on fresh air. Visit the park or some place with more greens.
Eat healthy food!
Pay attention to the food we eat. Not just for milk but also for yourself. Think how many times you have heard about the harmful effects of fried and fatty foods, preservatives, and all those goodies ready to consume. Forget about them! It has been shown that substances which take affect mood and tone. Eat fruits, vegetables, dairy products and drink plenty of water.
Relax!
Think of something positive, to repeat during the relaxation. Let me be brief thought and time – present. Point it to eliminate any fear, doubt, but without using negatives such as “I am the best mother”. To be complete, relaxation should be done in a quiet place – and possibly lonely. Turn off the phones themselves and the outside world for a while. Choose a comfortable position and place – the land on the couch, in bed. Close your eyes and inhale and exhale deeply several times. Throughout think positively. Do not expect to get into a trance – this is not magic or plays with the universe, but simply a way to get your brain to relax. Do not straighten sharp and after you open your eyes, do not rush to leave – so tarry a little longer. Relax for 15-20 minutes. Appropriate addition here is yoga.
Walk to the gym!
After birth hardly your body is in a flourishing form. It is often the opposite. To return the form, do gymnastics – to stretch a little cardio. These are exercises you can do at home without unnecessary strain and without losing time for a trip to the gym. Except the beautiful figure you will go back and self-esteem.
Get a massage!
Now is the time to indulge in the hands of a professional.
Laugh!
The therapeutic effect of Laughter therapy has been proven. No need to push yourself. It only takes attitude and some free time. Put on some comedy by those who make you laugh through the tears! Organize your night on the joke, read, stories and laugh with your family and friends.
