Men and women seek equally for “cybersex” in the internet
Intimate relations changed a lot since the World Wide Web was introduced to the mass consumer. The dangerous development of technologies allows anyone to create his own erotic ideal and to gain a lot of experience in the virtual sex.
Internet sex addiction is a growing phenomenon. It is a combination of sex addiction and internet addiction, which can develop when people compulsively log in internet to seek porn sites or “cybersex”.
Men and women seem to prefer sites that fit behavioral stereotypes of their own gender. Women would spend their time in the internet just chatting and flirting or having virtual love with others, while men will go directly to porn web sites. Men prefer visual stimulations and more focused actions, while women are more interested in relationships. So the conclusion is that men do search for porn sites, while women seek out for relationships, but
the percentage of men and women which use internet for “cybersex” is the same
Other bad news is that a lot of teenagers are becoming sexual addicts at the age of 16. The good news is that they had not actually had sex.
A study from 1998 showed that 91 % of the internet users spent more than 11 hours in porn sites every week. Studies show that sexual internet addiction, in which person spends more time in porn sites or “making” virtual love, leads to decreasing the real sexuality, the pleasure of real sex and in many cases – even to impotency.
The sexual fantasies, born from pornography, actually kill the real sexuality of person. This tendency is the reason why there are so many disappointments in bed. On the other side, disappointments lead to destructive thoughts and this is why the treatment of internet addiction should be made at the same time with relationship therapy.
