If you overdo the use of solarium, it will lead to structural changes on the skin

Scientists have proven that solariums are harmful. This was the last statement of the International Agency for Research on Cancer, which is part of the World Health Organization (WHO).
20 scientists from nine countries conducted tests and found out that exposure to the solarium and other artificial sources of ultraviolet radiation are carcinogenic.
According to the experts, people who make such procedures before the age of 30 are 75 % more likely to develop the dangerous skin cancer – melanoma.
The alarming fact is that every day more and more young people decide to use solarium. A survey in Germany shows that more than 4 million young people are regularly visiting the solariums. At the same time the cases of skin cancer have been increasing drastically. In England there is the tendency of melanoma being on of the top disease among young women.
The tanning of the skin is a result of releasing the dark pigment melanin. Melanin is pigment, which is produced from the skin cells in order to protect the skin from the effects of solar radiation. Actually melanin is our natural radiation umbrella.
If you overdo the use of solarium (like if you overdo staying under the sun), this will lead to structural changes in the skin. The upper layer of your skin will thicken, your skin will get dry and from there it will also loose its elasticity and strength.
You should absolutely avoid solariums in the periods while using birth control pills and/or antibiotics. Also during the time when you have made mesotherapy, peels or rejuvenating injections it is forbidden to visit the artificial sun. Actually after any kind of skin procedures with skin-deep, you have to wait at least a month before going to the solarium.
