After vegans in the Spanish town Malaga almost caused the death of their small children, specialists from the World Health Organization added veganism and vegetarianism in the list of mental diseases.
The refusal of meat, milk and other sources of proteins, needed for building the cells in the organism, can lead to death, claimed the scientists on a specially organized symposium on the problems of veganism and vegetarianism. The body needs a variety of vitamins, proteins and carbohydrates. The prolong lack of some of them is dangerous for health.
Spanish vegan’s children almost died because their parents deprived them of fats and hot food. Thanks to the neighbours, who called doctors and police, the lives of the fallen in coma girls were saved.
Many international organizations supporting animals, healthy life and activists have raised against the decision of the World Health Organization. They claimed as an example the names of many famous people, who have given up meat. They mentioned Bill Clinton, Gwyneth Paltrow, Richard Gere, Brad Pitt, Paul McCartney, Sting, Mohammed Ali and many others.
Scientists were categorical, though, that cases like that in Spain should be used as an example for the defenders of extremes in life. Too good is no good.
