The body can rejuvenate and without stem cell

There is data, at least as regards of the muscles of the skeleton, representing 40% of body weight. Discussion of the effectiveness, safety, ethical use of stem cells continues in the scientific community. At the same time appear evidence that the body is able to rejuvenate and without their help.

Be careful – television is bad for you!

Danish scientists at Copenhagen University have shown that muscles can recover / which is actually rejuvenation / using specific enzyme. The experiment involved two groups of men – “young” with a mean age of 22.5 years and “old” with an average age of 71.3 years. At the beginning of experiment the volunteers had a biopsy of the quadriceps femoral muscle. Then they were placed latching device to remain stationary this muscle.
As is known, fixed muscle atrophy, which happened after 2 weeks. Then all participants completed a complex rehabilitation and strength training was again a biopsy – the third day and month.
Analysis of tissue samples showed that the first “young” group had twice as many stem cells. After two weeks of immobility difference is increased to 4 times. But after little more than three weeks training the muscle tissue in both groups are fully recovered.
Looking ahead
In low mobility muscle atrophy and metabolism slows. As a result, the body starts within each 10 years to consume 10% less energy. Ie – 50 years as spending 30 percent less energy than 20. The unused calories turn into fat, which is the accumulation factor for endocrine, cardiovascular and other diseases – in fact it means aging.
According to experts specific enzyme activity is controlled by regular motion, what is the purpose of the muscles. This is another reminder that at any age, but especially in the more advanced, the movement is very necessary because it helps to restore muscle tissue.

However, researchers found that the average city resident consumes 30-40 calories less than necessary to maintain physical fitness, and hence the youth. And those calories can be burned for ten minutes brisk walking.
Less TV!
It turns out that the refusal of hours in front of TV is also a factor for rejuvenation and youth. Some time ago experts from the University of California found that each hour watching TV increases the risk of premature death by 11%. Contrary to popular opinion, teenagers are not the most active TV fans, but those over 65 years. Moreover, according to a special study, and they do not get special pleasure from this activity.
