How does psamotherapy work?
During psamotherapy sand is heated to 40 degrees and is distributed in piles between which makes the place where the patient lies. The amount of sand is not the same everywhere. The head and the area around the heart remain open, chest and abdomen covered with 4 cm sand, and the rest of the body – 6-10cm. During the first session the patient remains in this position for 10 min. With increasing number of procedures increases and the length, this reaches its final stage to 35-40min.
Then the patient should take a shower with hot sea water to turn a sheet and blanket to continue to sweat. Minutes later, still flushed with water and remains lying to rest until body temperature normalize. For treatment to be effective, it must include 15 procedures. Psamotherapy is suitable for children, but in this case, the session lasts no longer than 10min.
If you decide to apply psamotherapy, do evening sessions – to 17-18h. Then the air is not so hot and the sand is still warm. Stay no more than 15-20min. After the “treatments” do not rush to dive into the sea, and lay a few minutes in the shade while your body returns to its normal rhythm.
