Chips, french fries and popcorns are literally harmful to your health, Swedish researchers said in a report for the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva. These products, as a result of their high thermal treatment, made a substance – acrylamide, which specialists are linking with cancer development in people.
Scientists at the Cambridge University also conducted many studies on this topic. Their results show that 35 per cent of cancer diseases are directly linked to the food we eat. “The use of bacon, ham, frankfurters and other sausages increase risk of developing bowel cancer by about 50 per cent. Of course, there are a lot of quality products in the stores. But the modern average person chooses their food firstly because of the price, not because of health benefits, British researchers find.
Nutritionists do not recommend a total rejection of the meat – but the portions we eat from it should be reduced to 1 – 2 times a week. Meat products are more often harmful because they contain additives that users do not suspect.
Some researchers claim that nowadays fish is a common cause for the too big number of food poisoning, but not because of its qualities as a food, but because of the ability of the fishes to gain in themselves a large quantity of dangerous and toxic substances.
According to the statistics, most “clean” is the fish that is caught in the northern latitudes. We should not forget that fish is rich in phosphorus and other nutrients. Therefore, nutritionists continue to recommend its presence at the table at least once a week.
