Deal with your temper with a few simple techniques

Sign for a Halftime
Counting to then is not just for kids. Before saying or doing anything when you are angry, just take a 10-second halftime. Breathe deeply, count ten and then say or do something. The delayed reaction can “detoxify” your anger.
Express your anger, only after relaxing first
Once again you start thinking clearly, explain your problem with confident but not confrontational way. Claim your problems and dissatisfactions clearly and directly, without hurting others or trying to control them.
Think before you say anything
When you are under the power of anger it is easy to say something you will later regret for. Do not do or say anything before you gather your thoughts. If it is needed, just be silent for couple of minutes before reacting to the situation. Do not forget to let the others involved in the situation to do the same.
Use the “I” statements
To avoid criticism or transfer of guilt, which can only increase the tension, use “I” statements when trying to describe the problem. Be respectful and specific. For example say, “I am upset because you seem not to listen to me when I need it” rather than “You never help me with anything.”
